Blockfort has, since it beginning, worked with student interns to show them how galleries operate by offering them exhibitions. In November, intern Maya Pinz presents Growing Pains, an exploration of the new found self awareness presented by leaving home for college. On display will be ten paintings that explore this topic.

In Maya’s words: “This oil painting series reflects on childhood's bright moments and mirrors the similarities and differences between childhood and adulthood. It explores the difficulties and discomforts accompanying those changes and the longing for blissful childlike ignorance and comfort during a transitional period of my adulthood.”

This exhibition will take place in Gallery B, approriatately at the same time as the Nostalgia show in the main gallery. The exhibition opens November 11th with a reception from 6-8pm and runs until December 11th.
