Such a Tool is an artistic investigation centering around the relationship between the artist and the tool, and the intersection of human labor and automated production. In this exhibition, McGovney employs both traditional making techniques like painting and casting, as well as new-age technologies such as 3D printers and 3D modeling software, complicating how we define the art object.
