About Blockfort

Blockfort is a gallery and studio space located in Columbus, Ohio.

The building, a former auto parts store, now provides work space to over 25 artists and entrepreneurs. The painters, sculptors, printmakers, designers, performers, organizers, and makers comprise some of Columbus' best creative individuals. Together they work to cross-disciplines and form new connections, with an emphasis on quality and community.

In addition to the tenants, Blockfort houses a main gallery that rotates exhibitions on a monthly basis, Gallery B, a smaller showcase space for emerging artists, and a flex space used for performances and pop-up type events. The galleries combined have hosted over 100 exhibitions since opening. Outside of the building, the Lafayette Mural Alley Project is host to over 50 rotating murals, managed by Blockfort. Each spring, the murals are highlighted as part of the Alley Islands street festival which brings together art, food, music, commerce and local businesses.

Established in 2016, Blockfort aims to be an active creative hub, a resource for artists & entrepreneurs, and a destination bringing energy to the neighborhood.
