Maya Pinz

Maya Pinz is a fine artist and illustrator based in Columbus, Ohio. Through her dynamic oil paintings, Maya combines expressive portraiture and graphical iconography while confronting deeply personal themes. Beyond her experience with oil painting, she enjoys printmaking, mural creation, and digital illustration. By harnessing her authenticity, Maya creates work that sparks a genuine connection between the artist and the viewer and establishes moments of self-reflection. Maya had her first solo exhibition, "Growing Pains," at Blockfort Gallery in Columbus, OH (2022) and most recently had her second show, "The Divine Feminine", at WitchLab (2023). In addition, she's participated in multiple group exhibitions, including: New Beginnings - a Daylight Artist Collective Show (2023), Franklinton in Bloom at 400 West Rich (2023), and Nostalgia - a Blockfort Show (2022). She's earned the Tombow Arts: Create Your Own Best Work Scholarship (2021) and the CCAD Discovery District Scholarship (2020). In addition, she has been featured in VoyageOhio Magazine (2023) and Columbus Underground Magazine (2022).

She is set to graduate with a BFA in Illustration and a Minor in Business from Columbus College of Art & Design in December of 2023 and currently works at Blockfort Gallery as a Gallery Assistant
