Joleanna Bare

Joleanna is a visual artist whose painting style can be described as immersive realism. Her work carries strong social narratives, evoking emotional response that invite viewers to engage more deeply with the messages behind each piece. This emotional response creates space for connection and dialogue through illustrations rooted in shared experiences.

In addition to her studio practice, Joleanna works commercially as a muralist, portraitist, and live event painter. She is a self-taught artist who began receiving commissions and completing commercial and residential mural installations in middle school. After stepping away from her art career for over a decade to pursue work in healthcare, she returned with renewed passion and has been a full-time artist since 2022.

With the same dedication she brings to her own work, Joleanna is actively involved in the Columbus art community. She collaborates with non-profits and educational programs, working to strengthen and expand support to working artists and to use art to support under-resourced communities.
